Adrenalin
Dreams is accepting applications to
join our rappelling team for the New River Gorge Bridge Day Rappel on
October 15, 2011. The
team will consist of twelve members.
Applicants
must have previous rappelling experience but need not be an expert.
Selected team members must be available for several weekend days
throughout the
summer for training in Pittsburgh, PA. AD will train team
members in high rappel techniques, equipment application, belaying and
self rescue. There is no charge for training. Team members must own or
purchase their own rappelling equipment as listed below. Equipment is
available for purchase from AD at team discount.
Schedule
Training
- 4 weekend days throughout the summer. Schedule is flexible.
October 14th, Friday 5PM - Registration and orientation at the bridge
October 15th, Saturday 5AM - Free buffet breakfast
October
15th, Saturday 7AM
- Report to bridge, two team members rig ropes
October
15th, Saturday 9AM
- 4PM - Rappel
Free shuttle service is available for rides back to the bridge deck
after rappelling.

Seat harness with steel front
positining D ring
Straight 6-bar stainless steel brake rack with lock-off hyperbar
Handled ascender
Heavyweight rappelling gloves
CLimbing helmet
Locking rescue carabiners or similar screw links (4)
Costs
Individual
rappelling fee - $143.00
Team application fee - $20.00
Rope share - $100.00 (1000 ft rope will be cut into equal shares
following rappel)
Mileage - 226mi from Pittsburgh, PA to Fayetteville, WVA
Hotel - Average $150 p/night

If
you are
selected for the Adrenalin Dreams Rappelling Team, individual
rappelling fee, team application
fee and rope share must be paid by July 6th. You will be able to pay
by check, cash or credit card. You will then be directed to an online
registration form.
Bridge Day teams are selected
by lottery on
July 15th by
Bridge Day sponsor, "Passages To Adventure". If Adrenalin Dreams is not
selected,
individual rappelling fee and rope share will be refunded. Team
application fee is
non-refundable.
